LONDON, ENGLAND — LOS ANGELES — The internet has finally come to the rescue for the “Lolitans” and the “Dressy Loli.”
The two popular series of Disney princess dress-up movies are coming to Netflix.
On Tuesday, Netflix announced that it had signed a licensing deal with Disney to produce and release the two shows as a series.
Netflix will produce the first season of “Loli Loli Dolls” in the U.S., and the second season in the UK and Ireland, with a first installment to air later this year.
The “Dressesy Lolis” will debut on Netflix in 2019.
“The Lolita” franchise is one of the biggest in Disney’s catalog, and Netflix has already produced three seasons of the “Bambi” TV show.
Disney’s “Lollipop” films have had their biggest hit, winning a Golden Globe, and its “Cinderella” franchise has been a huge hit, earning three Oscars.
This is the first time Disney has brought its “Dollsy Lolita” and “Lolis” films to Netflix, although it has also produced a couple of “Disney” TV shows.
Some Disney-owned properties have become popular enough to warrant their own Netflix streaming service, including “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Aladdin,” “The Jungle Book” and others.
