By Alex Burns, NBC NewsHillary Clinton’s campaign is celebrating the first of many dresses worn by her running mate as she heads to battleground states.
Her campaign said in a statement that Clinton’s dress, which is adorned with flowers, was the first time that the former secretary of state has worn a formal dress while campaigning.
“It’s been a year of campaigning, and now is the time for our country to come together to defeat Donald Trump, and make America great again,” said the campaign statement.
“Hillary Clinton is a fighter and she will not be stopped.”
Clinton has worn formal dress since becoming the first female presidential candidate in 2020.
Her appearance is part of a concerted effort to build on the party’s “unity tour,” which started this week in New York City and ended Friday in Pennsylvania.
Clinton’s campaign said Friday that Clinton is “hopeful” about the possibility of winning the White House in 2020, and has been traveling around the country to meet with voters.
The campaign said Clinton is also working on a book that will be released in the fall, but did not offer any further details.
