A Sydney man has sold a pair of white lace dressers for $1,500.
The man, who only gave his first name as Michael, told the ABC he was inspired by a dress he wore in the New Year’s Eve celebrations.
“I got a lovely white dress with a ribbon on it and I thought, ‘wow, this would make a lovely evening dress’,” Mr Michael said.
“When I got home and looked at it, I thought ‘wow this would really look nice’.”
I decided to try it on and it turned out to be just as nice as I imagined it would be.
“He bought the white-lace dressers from eBay for $800, but was surprised when he discovered the price tag was $2.9 million.”
It was a little bit of a shock to me because I had bought a pair on eBay for about $400, but I thought $2 million would be quite a bit for that sort of item,” he said.
Mr Michael said he felt a special connection to the dressers, having attended his wedding with his wife, who wore a white lace wedding dress.”
We just bought a dress, but it was a bit more intimate, because I’m in a really tight relationship and we’re very open with each other,” he explained.”
The white lace on the dress was so subtle and it made me feel so special, so it’s really made me want to wear it again.
“Mr Michael has been shopping at the Sydney Fashion Show for about four months, and has been buying new dresses for about a month.”
A lot of people don’t want to think about the cost of things, they want to see the best deals and get a great deal,” he told ABC TV.”
For me, I want to make sure I get the best deal, so I just bought it and am happy with it.
“He said the dresses he bought were “not necessarily my standard dress, so the quality is a little different”.”
I can wear it, but there are some things I’d rather get something that I can wear with it,” he added.
