Michelle Obama, who wore red to her wedding to rapper and musician Kanye West, said it was her “biggest day of her life”.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, she was asked about her “first day on the job” at the White House.
“This was the most exciting thing that I’ve ever been a part of,” Mrs Obama said.
“And then the hardest thing was that it was our first day.”
It was like being at a wedding.
And it’s hard because it’s our first time, and we want to get to know each other and feel like we’re part of this family, but it was the hardest day.””

“Mrs Obama, whose first day at the job began with a tour of the US Capitol, added: “It was my big day, and I was excited.
“I was excited to get started on the campaign.”
But she did not say whether she was happy with her job as first lady, or whether she would take another job as a White House official, but she said she would be “very happy”.
“I will definitely be taking another job, because I love being a first lady,” she said.
Mrs Obama and her husband, President Barack Obama, were on a first-class jet for a meeting with business leaders and lawmakers, with the two women meeting the heads of the two biggest US corporations, Microsoft and Apple.
But she was criticised for the trip for not being as private as expected, with a host of reporters caught in the middle of the President’s speech.
“The first thing you should have said was: ‘I’m sorry, we’re going to take this private’,” she said on Tuesday.
“But that didn’t happen.”‘

“He’ll also meet with members of the Federal Reserve, Federal Trade Commission, and others to discuss their concerns regarding his presidency,” the spokesperson said.
